One moment that made me realize I grew up in poverty was when I often felt that spending money on myself was a waste, and I feared that anything extra was an unnecessary risk. Even when I had the means, I would avoid these investments, thinking it was safer to save every penny, not recognizing that this mindset was holding me back from growth and new experiences.
